Decentralization brings better results and efficiency
1991 Dnipro and 1991 Ivano-Frankivsk are two regional divisions of the 1991 Open Data Incubator focused on projects that solve local problems. Selected start-ups were trained through an incubator to the pilot stage with the city, and then they received funding from external donors or the city.
The result of the collaboration between the 1991 Open Data Incubator and the regional offices in Dnipro and Ivano-Frankivsk is a diverse range of innovative projects focused on addressing local challenges.
The Dnipro branch, inaugurated in November 2016, showcased impactful projects such as the Navizor road quality control program, demonstrating the incubator's commitment to addressing local infrastructure issues. The "Polyclinic without queues" initiative also streamlined healthcare by enabling remote doctor appointments. Noteworthy startups emerging from the Dnipro division included solutions for volunteer firefighters, an interactive tourist guide, a business directory utilizing open data, and a platform facilitating communication between condominiums.
Established in February 2017, the Ivano-Frankivsk branch produced six innovative projects following a three-month incubation period. Among these projects are:
Collectively, these projects represent the outcomes of the 1991 Open Data Incubator's regional branches, showcasing the potential of open data and innovation in addressing specific challenges within local communities.
